Howdy. I’m a copywriter who just landed in Melbourne/Naarm.
When selling myself to a client, I might say I have a rare blend of common sense and uncommon thinking, that allows me to craft ideas both fresh and familiar. But I talk like a real person most of the time.
I also look like a real person most of the time. And while various creative directors and dads have told me to get a new headshot, I refuse.
I refuse to make advertising less fun than it was yesterday. I won't go down without a fight in the war against boring we’re so clearly losing. The safe choice might be hard to escape, but it’s also never made the hairs on my arms stand up, or made me laugh so hard I cried and had to pretend I wasn’t. In fact, the safe choice has never made me cry at all.
The safe choice doesn’t get remembered, or even increase sales. So why would I, or any brand, put up with it?
I’m here to move people, and therefore move the needle, and that usually involves pushing things just a little bit. If that sounds like what your agency or brand needs, please get in touch.
